Mrs. Ellen Ricketts Funeral Held Monday

Mrs. Ellen Ricketts, 85, died Friday in the McGregor Community Hospital. She was the widow of Thomas Ricketts, who farmed in this community. Services were held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Thornburg funeral home with the Rev. Frank Cass, Methodist minister of Fayette, officiating. Burial was in the Swede Ridge cemetery.

Mrs. Ricketts was a former news correspondent for the North Iowa Times. She was born June 2, 1873 in England, a daughter of Thomas and Catherine Barker. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ray (Lucille) Canoe of Monona and a son, Robert J. Ricketts.
