Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Funeral services for Anna Henrietta Orr, age 94, were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 22, at St. Patrick's Catholic church in Monona, Iowa. Con-celebrants were Father Robert Levenhagen and Father John Moran. burial was in the church cemetery. Arrangements were by the Schultz Funeral Home in Monona, Iowa. Casket bearers were Larry and James Thompson, Robert Sass, James Burger, Orville Troester, and Earl Schwartzhoff.
Anna Henrietta, daughter of James and Sophia (Licht) Scannell. She attended rural and St. Patrick's Catholic grade schools, and graduated from Monona High School in 1921. On August 29, 1923 she married Frank Orr of Elkader, Iowa. They moved to Chicago, Illinois where both were employed. In 1963 they retired and moved back to Monona, Iowa. Frank died September 9, 1985 and in 1993 she became a resident of the Great River Care Center in McGregor, Iowa.
Anna Henrietta Orr died Tuesday, January 20, 1998 at the Great River Care Center in McGregor, Iowa. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Julius Scannell, John Scannell, and Emmett Scannell and three sisters, Agnes Klatt, Julia Levenhagen, and Mary Scannell.
Anna is survived by nieces and nephews.
