Mrs. Fanny Bracker died Monday morning, October 21, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Gottfried Frieden with whom she had been making her home for the past nineteen years. She had been ill several months and at death had reached the age of seventy-seven years, two months and twenty-eight days.

Mrs. Braker was born in Switzerland, June 23, 1852. While still a resident of that country she was married to Edward Beninger who died in 1877. This union was blessed with four children of whom three are dead, Marie, died at the age of 2 years, Ida at the age of 6, and Edward at the age of 22. The only surviving child is Mrs. Frieden of south of Elgin.

In 1899 she was married to Samuel Braker and the family came to America where they first settled at Elgin, Illinois, and lived there nine years. They then moved here and have lived here since, both in town and in the country near here. Mr. Braker died in 1915 and since that time Mrs. Braker had made her home with her daughter. She is survived by her daughter and one sister, Rose Adele, who lives in Switzerland, near Geneva.

The subject of this sketch had been a faithful member of the Apostolic church for sixty-three years, having joined with them when she was 14 years old. All through life she lived the teachings of her church, doing the good that was in her power and thereby gaining numerous close friends who shall cherish the memory of this good woman.

The funeral services were held at the Apostolic church, Wednesday afternoon, October 23, and burial was made in the cemetery near there.

~Notes: surname spelling is Bracker and Braker were used as in the original obit and in other records. Beninger is spelled Benninger in other records.
~Maiden name may have been Voidet or Viodet

An Error Corrected
In last week's Echo we made a mistake when we said that Mrs. Fanny Braker's sister lived near Geneva, Switzerland. This is an error as the sister, Rosa A. Viodet, also makes her home at the Gottfried Frieden home. We might also have mentioned further the five grandchildren of Mrs. Braker who mourn her death. They are Ida, Sam, Harry, Marie and Edna Frieden, the children of Mr. and Mrs. Gottfried Frieden.
