Charles H Peck

Charles H Peck, 85, of Marquette died suddenly Monday at his home. He was a retired livestock buyer for Swift & Co, and former mayor of Marquette for many years. Survivors include a son, Dayton, of South Bend, IN, three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Masonic services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. by Bezer Lodge No. 135, A.F. & A.M. at the Thornburg Funeral Home in McGregor, with burial in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Funeral Home, Pallbearers will be Masonic brothers.

(Note: Charles Peck was born 6/30/1898 in Marquette I think (not sure). Charles
and Agnes were married in Dubuque. He was a former mayor of Marquette.)

Note: 1st wife was Agnes C. Hultgren, died 1961). He may have had a 2nd marriage also. Charley gives his father variously as Joseph or Henry Peck, depending on the record (1925 IA State census, WWI draft registration). His mother was Minnie Peck & grandparents Josiah & Emily Peck.
