Died - In McGregor, at the residence of her son-in-law, J.J. Clemens, Sept. 28th, 1880, Mrs. Anna M. Sandganger, aged 68 years and 9 months.
The deceased came to this country in 1846, and to this county in 1849. She was among the early settlers of the county. Two daughters, Mrs. J.C. Vaupel, of Elkader, and Mrs. J.J. Clemens, of this city, are now the only survivors of the once large family who formed part of the colony of early settlers that did so much to shape the future welfare of the county.
Mrs. Sandganger was an earnest Christian woman, a devoted member of the Catholic church. She was kind, indulgent and considerate of the wants and claims of those around her. The funeral occurred this morning at the Catholic church, attended by a large concourse of sympathizing friends and neighbors. Rev. P. McManus, of Prairie du Chien officiating.
