Services Held For Dwight Cowell

Funeral services for Dwight T. Cowell, 9, son of Mr. and Mrs. Duane Cowell of Luana, were held Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 3, at 2 o'oclock at the Monona Methodist church with Rev. Paul V. Clements officiating.

The body lay in state from 1 o'clock until the time of the services. Burial was in the Monona City cemetery.

Dwight died Sunday, July 31, at noon at University hospitals in Iowa City from leukemia, being afflicted with the disease for several years.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Diane; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Cowell and Leska Martins.

Music at the services was provided by Mrs. James Gerdes, soloist. Mrs. Thomas James was the organist.
Pallbearers were Dennis and Alan Martins, William Melcher, Ronald Wendel, Darwin Melcher, and Dean Walsh.
