Funeral services for Alice Adele Kottman, age 90, were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 22 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monona, Iowa with the Rev. Terry Hudson officiating. Burial was in the Monona City Cemetery with arrangements by Schultz Funeral Home. Casket bearers were Jeremy Kottman, John Kottman, Dave Wille, Chuck Wendel, Tom Macha, and Clarence Lucas. Honorary bearers were Dan Schweikert, Earl Jones, Bob Tayek, Dwayne Mauer, Harley Luster, Lairen Moyer, Steve Weipert, and Jim Tayek.

Alice Adele, daughter of Frank and Martha (Schroeder) Lestina, was born May 10, 1907 in Giard Township in Clayton County, Iowa. On December 1, 1925 she married LeRoy Kottman at the Lutheran parsonage in Monona, Iowa. They farmed in the Monona area for many years. Alice played piano in Lestina's Serenaders, a dance band, with her brother Walt and her sister, Hazel.

Alice Adele Kottman died May 19, 1997 at the Good Samaritan Center in Postville, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband who died November 7, 1963, and a brother, Walter Lestina who died March 10, 1996.

Alice is survived by her 2 sons, Harland (LaVon) Kottman and Gary (Sharon) Kottman, all of Monona, Iowa; 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Hazel Blumhagen of Postville; and a sister-in-law, Florence Lucas of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin.
