Funeral services for Matthew Anthony Pickart, age 18, of Strawberry Point, Iowa, were held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 19 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Dennis Juhl officiating. Burial was in the Strawberry Point, Iowa City Cemetery.

Matthew, son of Thomas and Kathryn (Danaher) Pickart, was born December 4, 1978. He was a senior at Starmont High School where he participated in wrestling, cross country, track, gold, plays and musicals, speech, chorus, and much more.

Matthew Anthony Pickart died Thursday, May 15, 1997. He was preceded in death by an infant brother John Pickart; grandfather Thomas Danaher, and an uncle.

Matthew is survived by his parents; 3 sisters, Ann Pickart, Katie Pickart, and Mary Pickart, 2 brothers, Mark Pickart and Tony Pickart, all of Strawberry Point, Iowa; his grandparents, Donna (Zoll) Danaher of Ankeny, Iowa, and Cliff and Connie Pickart of Norway, Iowa; uncles and aunts.
