Mrs. Charles Schave, accompanied by her sister, Mrs. George Schave of Decorah, returned here Tuesday from Monmouth, Ill., where they had gone to attend the funeral of their brother-in-law, DeWitt C. Stearns, aged 73 years. The funeral was held Sunday in Monmouth. Mr. Stearns at one time was a resident of Castalia where he operated a restaurant and followed the carpenter's trade. He was born at Bismark, Iowa, and his wife is the former Minnie Peterson of Froelich, sister of Mrs. Charles and Mrs. George Schave. The wodow, a son and a daughter survive him.
