Libbie V. Pearson was born in Garnavillo, Iowa, Nov. 8, 1858. She removed with her parents to Hardin, Iowa, in 1867. She was married to Dennis Church, Nov. 8, 1876, at her home in Hardin. About 1882 they went to South Dakota and from there to Montana, where her husband died a few years later. She passed away Feb. 1, 1927, at the home of her son in Harlem, Mont. after a short illness from pneumonia.
She leaves to mourn her loss her son George W. Church and daughter, Mrs. John Shockley, both of Turner, Mont.; four sisters, Mrs. W.E. Sawdey of Portland, Oregon; Mrs. Fred Ernst of St. Paul; Mrs. Henry Dunning of Alva, Okla; Mrs. A.E. Evans of Butte, Mont; two brothers, R.V. and Chester A. Pearson of Postville, and Mrs. Julia Pearson.
She was a most loving daughter and sister, and devoted mother. Her many friends in this vicinity will ever have the memory of her many kind deeds in time of trouble.

~Note: of the surviving siblings, only R.V. Pearson was her full brother, the others were 1/2 sisters & brother. Libbie's parents were George W. Pearson and Maria Weber, early settlers in the Garnavillo area. Julia Hunt Pearson, mentioned in the obit as a survivor, was her step-mother. Julia was only 8 years older than Libbie.
