Gottlieb Bigler died yesterday (Thursday) morning at 8 o'clock. He was 70 years old the 30th of last March and leaves six grown children, four sons and two daughters. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at the Apostolic church.

The funeral of Gottlieb Bigler was held from the Apostolic church, east of town, Sunday and the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at that place. Mr. Bigler had resided near this city for many years and was respected by all who knew him and a large number of sorrowing relatives and friends were in attendance at the last sad rites. Mr. Bigler is survived by six children, four sons and two daughters and many relatives and friends. His demise will be greatly regretted by all who knew hi as he was a man of many worthy traits of character.

Gottleib Bigler was born in Canton, Switzerland, March 31, 1843 and died September 4, 1913. He came to this country in 1868 and in 1869 he was married to Mary Mairs.
To them seven children were born, Pricella died at the age of three years. The six living are: Mrs. Felix Miller, of Fayette county; Henry Bigler, of Clayton county; Mrs. Jacob German, of Peoria, III.; Louie, of Clayton and Earnest and John, of Allamakee county.
He was a kind and indulgent husband and father and was ever ready and willing to assist a friend or neighbor. He will be missed by the community wherein he had had resided for so many years.

~Notes: Mr. Bigler lived for a time in Clayton co. Iowa. His farm was in Section 29, Marion twp., east of Elgin, Fayette county, and less than a mile from the Dunkard/Apostolic cemetery where he is buried. He took out his first papers for naturalization in Fayette county. His estate was probated by the District Court at West Union, Fayette co., October, 1916, Judge Hobson.
