Mrs. Mary Bigler, who passed from this life February 1, 1910, at her home east of town, was born in Germany, August 6, 1838 and emigrated to this country in the year 1868 and in 1869 was united in marriage to Gottleib Bigler. At the time of her death she was seventy-one years, five months and six days old. She was a christian lady, a kind neighbor, a true wife and a loving and indulgent mother. For many years she has been a resident of this vicinity, and where she is best known, she was most loved. Her life has been well lived and she leaves besides her husband, two daughters and four sons, many relatives and friends to mourn her departure. Funeral services were held from the Apostolic church, east of town, Friday of last week and the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at that place.

~Notes: Her maiden name was given in her husband's obit as Mairs, and in the obit of her son Louis as Maues. Mr. & Mrs. Bigler lived for a time in Clayton co. Iowa. Their farm was in Section 29, Marion twp., east of Elgin, Fayette county, and less than a mile from the Dunkard/Apostolic cemetery where she is buried.
