Elkader - Charles F. Stendel, 78, died at Veterans Memorial Hospital, Sunday, Feb 5. He was a retired farmer from the Elkader area. Services will be Thursday, Feb 9, 1:30 p.m. Peace United Church of Christ, Elkader. Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery. Friends may call at the Witt Funeraly Home after 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Survivors include one son, Herman, Waukon; one daughter, Mrs. Leroy (Esther) Potter, Waukon; one sister, Mrs. Charles (Amelia) Meyer, Elkader; 10 grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
