Funeral services were held at Glenwood Lutheran Church Tuesday, September 4 at 11 a.m. for Marie Lucille Hill, age 68, of Glenwood Township, in Winneshiek, County. Burial was in Phelps Cemetery in Decorah, Iowa with French and Balik Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Chad Wikan, William Wikan, Marvin Kuehl, Robert Wikan, Charles Stendel, and David Robinson. Honorary pallbearers were George Kuehl, Richard Robinson, Bobby Jones, Ronnie Wikan, Cory Sande, and Dale Jones.

Marie was born February 27, 1922 in the Elkader, Iowa area in Clayton County to Halvor and Amanda (Meisner) Wikan. She attended rural Clayton County schools. On March 30, 1949 she married Tilman Hill at Glenwood Lutheran Church in rural Decorah, Iowa. The lived in Winneshiek County.

Surviving are her husband, Tilman; 5 children, Gary Hill of Decorah, Iowa, Cathy Compston of Forest City, Iowa, Thomas Hill of Colfax, Iowa, Tracy Cioccio of Colfax and Lynn Thornton of Decorah, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; a brother John Wikan of Decorah, Iowa and two sisters, Phyllis Kuehl of Marquette, Iowa and Helen Robinson of Shelby, Iowa.
