Funeral services for Arlo Johanningmeier were held Monday, June 17, 2:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Monona, Iowa. Pastor Elwin Farwell officiated. Burial was in St. Paul's Lutheran Church cemetery in Monona, Iowa. Schultz Funeral Home, Monona, Iowa was in charge of services. Pallbearers were Eldo Johanningmeier, Maloy Johanningmeier, Justin Johanningmeier, Willis Johanningmeier, Virgil Johanningmeier, and Keith Johanningmeier.

Arlo Heinrich Johanningmeier, son of Charles and Sophia "Mary" (Schrader) Johanningmeier, was born October 13, 1901 near Luana, Iowa. He was baptized December 1, 1901 and confirmed in 1918 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Luana, Iowa. He received his education in Evergreen Grove country school. On October 10, 1923 he married Lucy Mueller in St. Olaf, Iowa. The couple farmed east of Monona in Pleasant ridge. He retired from farming and moved to Monona in January of 1973. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Arlo died Friday, June 14, 1991 at Memorial Hospital in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Lucy, who died November 2, 1972; a son Donald Johanningmeier; a sister Florence; and 6 brothers, Alvin A. Johanningmeier, Wesley Johanningmeier, Werner Johanningmeier, Roy Johanningmeier, William Johanningmeier, and Elmer Johanningmeier.

Arlo is survived by one son, Lee Allen Johanningmeier of McGregor, Iowa, a daughter, Sharon (Roland) Troester of Garnavillo, Iowa; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
