Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Services for Mrs. Frieda W. Fritz, age 92, of Ennoble Manor Care Center, formerly of Froelich, Iowa, were held at Behr Funeral Home, Dubuque, Iowa. Burial was in the Giard Cemetery, Giard, Iowa in Clayton County.
Frieda was born on March 18, 1901 in Hamburg, Germany, the daughter of Carl and Carolyn (Missud) Banks. She immigrated to the United States in 1921 and settled around Elkader, Iowa. She married John A. Fritz on January 17, 1923 at Giard, Iowa. He died on May 13, 1962. She was a housekeeper to Mr. Fritz before their marriage. She died Wednesday, January 19, 1994 at the care center.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Harold J. Fritz on September 2, 1988 and by three step-children, Lester J. Fritz on March 21, 1979, Dorothy (Mrs. Dale) Thompson on January 12, 1977, and Lina (Mrs. Clyde) Redmon on December 21, 1990.
She is survived by a son, Harvey (Gwen) Fritz of Epworth, Iowa; 16 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
