Olia K. Olson, daughter of Knute and Bergit Olson, was born in Clayton County, on February 2, 1874. She moved by wagon train to Moody County, S. Dakota, with her parents at the age of three years.
On March 4, 1896, she was united in marriage to Joseph M. Cook at Flandreau. They farmed until 1926 when they moved to Egan. Mr. Cook passed away in 1931, and Mrs. Cook lived in Egan until about four years ago when she moved to Flandreau and made her home with her daughter.
She was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Josie Christensen, Flandreau, one son Casper of rural Flandreau, seven grand-children; 23 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild, one sister and one brother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, one grandchild, two great-grandchildren, four brothers and four sisters.
Her final resting place was in Hillside Cemetery, Egan, South Dakota. Mrs. Cook was a cousin of Mrs. James Taylor, Clermont and Mrs. John Erickson, Wadena.
