Hattie Huckstadt
Hattie Anna Huckstadt, daughter of William and Mary (Possehl) Huebner, was born August 20, 1908 in Boardman Township, Clayton County, Iowa. She died Friday, April 19, 1996 at Central Community Hospital, Elkader.
She received her education in the rural country school.
Hattie was united in marriage to Arno Huckstadt on June 18, 1931 in Read Township. She was a member of the Gooding Better Neighbors Club. Hattie was a member of St. John Lutheran at Farmersburg and took an active role in church activities. She became a resident of the Elkader Care Center January 22, 1996.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Arno, who died November 8, 1963; and a sister, Hilda Lenth.
Survivors include two sons, Roger and his wife, Mona, of Cedar Falls and Richard of Farmersburg; two grandchildren, Vicki Bishop and Jan Huckstadt; two great-grandchildren, Lindsay and Lauren Bishop; one brother, Arno Huebner and his wife, Mildred of Guttenburg; one sister, Helen and her husband, Reuben Nydegger of Adel, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 23, 1996 at St. John Lutheran Church, Farmersburg, Iowa. Pastor Bruce Hanson officiated. Organist was Mrs. Theresa Rodas. Pallbearers were Alvin Rodas, Jim Lenth, Dennis Peterson, Larry Kurth, Larry Friedlein, and Jerel Palas. Burial was in the Farmersburg-Wagner Cemetery, Farmersburg, Iowa. Schultz's Funeral Home of Monona was in charge of services.
