Elkader - Alice Crary Brandt, about 80, a native of Elkader and wife of the late Dr. Glen Brandt, a Cedar Rapids dentist, died thursday in an Elgin, Ill. hospital. Services are tentatively set for Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Witt funeral home here. She is survived by a daughter, Eunice, of Elgin, and a brother, Art, of Elkader. Mrs. Brandt was the daughter of the late Oliver Crary, a Clayton county judge and state legislator.

Mrs. Alice Crary Brandt, daughter of Oliver W. and Agnetha (Thobson) Crary, was born at National, Clayton County, Iowa, March 25, 1881, and died July 2, 1959, at Elgin, Ill., after a long illness.

She was married to Glen Brandt at Monona in 1906.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

She is survived by one daughter, Eunice Brandt, and two brothers, Arthur, Elkader, and Avery, Los Angeles, Calif.

Funeral services were held Sunday, July 5, at the Witt funeral home with the Rev. George Richter of the Congregational Christian Church officiating. Burial was at National. Pallbearers were Jack Donlon, Lucian Donlon, Edward Crary, Floyd Leuchtenmacher, Pat McDonnell and Patrick Donlon.

Relatives and friends from a distance who attended the funeral were: Eunice Brandt, Elgin, Ill.; Sarah Clancy, Chicago; Amy Jo McDonnell and Pat McDonnell, Clinton; and Avery Crary, Los Angeles, Calif.
