Funeral Services Held For Ruby Hertrampf
Funeral services were held for Ruby Hertrampf on Wednesday afternoon, February 1, at Garden City United Methodist Church, Monona with Pastor Ehlers officiating. Pallbearers were her grandson Gene, Danny, Donnie Ray and Marlin Hertrampf, Bob and Bill Johanningmeier. Burial was in the Monona City Cemetery. Schultz Funeral Home was in charge of the services.
Ruby (Mount) Hertrampf, daughter of Samuel and Cora (Dixson) Mount, was born December 19, 1902 north of Waukon, Iowa. As a young girl her family moved to what is known as the home place, east of Monona where her brother, Roy Mount, lives. She received her education in Allamakee County.
She married Anton Hertrampf July 15, 1919 at Waukon, Iowa. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1969. She was baptized as an adult. They farmed in Allamakee and Clayton counties and retired to Monona in November 1973.
Mrs. Hertrampf became ill on Saturday morning, January 28, and was taken by ambulance to the Memorial Hospital, Prairie du Chien, Wis. and passed away on Sunday evening, January 29, at the age of 75 years, 1 month, 10 days.
Preceding her in death were her parents; daughter, Gertrude, Mrs. Willis Johanningmeier; 2 grandsons died in infancy; 4 sisters, Grace Miller, Velva Grossman, Ada Hertrampf and Florence Hertrampf.
Surviving her are her husband, Anton; her children, Lester of Patch Grove, Wis.; Raymond of Monona; Donald of Fennimore, Wis.; Marcella (Mrs. John Ewing) of Corvallis, Ors., Darlene (Mrs. Palmer Halverson) of Monona; Patricia (Mrs. Ronald Hill) of Fountain, Minn.; Leland of Farmersburg; 30 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren, and 2 brothers, Roy of Monona and Floyd of Waukon.
