William Miene, 02 Apr 1869-21 Feb 1928

About five o’clock Tuesday, Feb. 22, Wm. Miene Sr., passed away at his home a couple of miles west of town. He had been a sufferer from cancer of the stomach and live for a long time. He was born in Buensing Germany in 1890 (sic). His wife was Miss Anna Dierking of Nuenberg, Germany. In 1904 they with four children emigrated to the United States locating in Clayton County. They family consisted of Henry, Will, and Fritz, Mrs. Fred Walsh, Meta and Velma. The funeral occurred Friday afternoon from the Postville Luth. Church, Rev. E. Finck, pastor, burial in the cemetery near by.
