February 19, 1903; The Monona Leader
Monday morning John Turner, returning from Volney, whither he had been to convey his daughter, met with an accident which promises to confine him in his home for some time. Something about a running gear of the buggy broken, when the horses became frightened and undertook to run away. He held onto the lines, but was thrown out receiving several ugly cuts on the head and his shoulder dislocated. He was brought home and his wounds dressed by Dr. Brownson. He is doing as well as could be expected for one of his age and considering the severe shaking up he received.
