Elkader - Peter A. Dunn, 71, of Elkader died suddenly Wednesday noon. Mr. Dunn was the father of the Rev. Francis J. Dunn, assistant chancellor of the Archdiocese of Dubuque.

The Rosary will be recited Thursday and Friday at 8 p.m. in the McTaggart funeral home. The requiem solemn mass will be said Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's church here. The Most Rev. J. Leo Binz, archbishop of Dubuque, will give the final absolution, The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Daniel A. Gorman, pastor of St. Joseph's, will preach the funeral sermon. The Rt. Rev. George J. Biskup, vicar general, will be deacon, and the Rt. Rev. James Casey, officials of the archdiocese, will be sub-deacon, The Rev. Cletus Hawes, assistant pastor of St. Joseph's, will be master of ceremonies.

Mr. Dunn was born April 18, 1885, at Elkader. He was married Sept. 7, 1920. He was a life-long resident of Elkader. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Robert Conners; a grandson; three brothers, Clem, of Waterloo; Jay, of Elkader, and Earl, of Rockford, and two sisters, Ella Looney and Winifred Dunn of Elkader.
