Funeral services for Bernard Harold Hansen (sic), 73, were held Monday, Dec. 24 at the East Clermont Lutheran church with Rev. Matt Bersagel officiating.

Burial was in the east Clermont Lutheran cemetery. Muehlethaler Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Bernard Harold Hanson (sic), son of George and Randine (Gilbertson) Hanson (sic), was born May 26, 1911 at the home farm. He died December 20 at his home.

Bernard was baptized and confirmed at the East Clermont Lutheran church. He graduated from the Elgin high school in 1929.

June 1, 1938 he was married to Alma Opsand at the Marion Lutheran church, Gunder. To this marriage 10 children were born. They lived on the home farm until his death. He was a lifelong member of East Clermont Lutheran church and served on various boards of the church.

He was a member of Farm Bureau, Clayton County Conservation Board of Directors for 24 years, Valley School Board during the reorganization and building of Valley High School, Valley Coop. board, and was clerk of Marion township. He was also a bus driver in the valley school system for 10 years.

He is preceded in death by one sister, Signe Larson and one grandchild, Sarah Ann Hanson (sic).

Survivors include his wife, Alma; brother, Joe; four sons, Paul, St. Olaf, Harold, Enoch, and Albert, Elgin; six daughters, Mrs. Harley (Randine) Evenson, West Union, Mrs. Dale (Margaret) Suhr, Calmar, Mrs. Marvin (Sylvia) Feigenspan, Portland, OR, Inga Hanson (sic), Elgin, Mrs. Kevin (Elsie) Walsh, Boston, MA and Mrs. Gary (Cora) Elrod, Rolla, MO and 20 grandchildren.
