Memorial rites for Zelda E. Alderson, age 76, of Clermont, Iowa were held Monday, March 14 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Elgin, Iowa with burial in Cass Township Cemetery, Strawberry Point, Iowa. The service was conducted by Rev. Richard Kretzchmar. Casket bearers were Kenneth burns, Lester Jarchow, Roger Gamm, Marsene Gamm, Eric Henriksen, and Kenneth Flatland. Arrangements were by Muehlethaler Funeral Home of Elgin, Iowa.

Zelda Edna was born January 29, 1912, near Fayette, Iowa at the farm home of her parents, George and Frances (Chase) Gray. The eighth of 10 children, she attended Maynard and Fayette schools. Zelda married Merle "Shorty" Alderson of Strawberry Point, Iowa on August 29, 1932. In 1940 they moved to Clermont, Iowa. Merle died on March 29, 1978.

Zelda passed away on Thursday, March 10, 1988 at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Karen Alderson of Marion, Iowa and Linda, Mrs. Lee Hendrickson.
