John J. Orr
Souris, Man. - The funeral of John Joseph Orr, 81, retired farmer, who died at his home here March 26, after a long illness, was held from the Brockie funeral home to Glenwood cemetery, March 27, Rev. J. Scott Leith officiating. He was born at Elkader, Iowa, and came to Canada 60 years ago, settling in Killarney and coming to Souris in 1904. He retired in 1934 owing to ill health. He married Miss Mabel Grey Merritt, who survives him with two sons, William of Summerberry, Sask., and Kenneth at home, and two daughters, Mrs. V. Mann of Souris and Mrs. Leslie H. Girling; also two brothers, Frederick of Elkader, Iowa and William of Devil's Lake, N.D. There are six grandchildren.
