SERVICES HELD NOV. 23 FOR MRS. G. B. SMITH

Funeral services for Mrs. Grace B. Smith, who passed away suddenly about nine A.M. on Saturday, Nov. 23, were held at the Kreussel funeral home at two P.M. Tuesday, Nov. 26.

The Rev. Howard Spiegel officiated at the services. Mrs. John Ehler accompanied Mrs. Frank Thompson and Mrs. Max Seedorff as they sang “In the Garden” and “Abide with Me.” Pall bearers were Arthur Talcott, Fred Linderwell, Otto Linderwell, Winnie Nace, Roy Nace and Ernest Hoffman. Burial was at the County Corners Cemetery.

Mrs. Grace B. Smith, daughter of Fred and Harriet Dunsmoor, was born Nov. 28, 1883 near County Corners, Clayton County, Iowa. On January 27, 1904, she became the bride of Frank W. Smith. To this union were born five children, two boys and three girls. Mrs. Smith was a life-time member of the County Corners Methodist Church until it was disbanded in the 1930’s.

She is survived by four of her children, Wayne of Arlington; George of National City, Calif., Erma Medearis, of Waterloo, Ia., and Eva Gamm of Arlington. Also surviving her are 13 grandchildren and 4 great grand children, and four sisters: Ida Gruman of Lamont, Bertha Dunsmoor of Cedar Rapids, Louise Wells of Prairieburg, Iowa and Mabel Rogers of LaCrosse, Wis.

Mrs. Grace B. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter and one granddaughter, her parents and three brothers.
