MRS. COLE’S DEATH FOLLOWS HUSBAND’S BY ONLY 24 DAYS
Mrs. Bert Cole, 62, died at Mercy hospital, Oelwein, Saturday following a week’s illness. Her death came only 24 days after the death of her husband.
Funeral services were held Monday at the Methodist church with Rev. R. Park Anderson as Clergyman. Pall bearers were Carl Buls, O. H. J. Feulner, Clif. Huntley, M. F. Harwood, Jack Matthews and Chas. McCarron. Miss Mary Lou Rusk was soloist with Mrs. Lloyd Kramer at the organ. Mrs. R. V. Brandt, Mrs. Carl Buls and Mrs. Gorda Gill were flower bearers. Interment was in Strawberry Point cemetery.
Ollie Jane Cole, the daughter of Benjamin and Olive Waite Cole was born November 10, 1883. When but a small child she came with her parents to live in the community of Strawberry Point, moving from the farm northwest of town. She attended the Strawberry Point School. As a youth she was converted and baptized in the Christian faith in the Baptist church. On September 18, 1906, she was united in marriage to Bert Cole. Mr. Cole was called by death, October 2, 1946. The burden of sorrow of her husband’s passing and her own weakened physical condition is said to have caused her sudden death. Survivors include her aunt, Mrs. Eva Benson and several cousins.
