Arthur Herrmann

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church for Arthur Herrmann, 37, who was killed in an automobile accident near Elkader last Friday. The rites were in charge of Rev. Frederick R. Ludwig.

Arthur Herrmann, the son of G. G. Herrmann and Anna Knappe, was born July 14, 1914, on a farm near St. Olaf. He died in an automobile accident at the age of 37 years, two months and 13 days.

He was baptized in the Lutheran Church in Farmersburg.

On August 20, 1938, he was married to Vila Schnuelle at Ossian. To this union three children were born. His entire life was spent in the surrounding community in farming.

He is survived by his wife and two sons, Dean and Dale; his mother; two sisters, Mrs. Arthur (Dorothy) Furlong of Dubuque, and Mrs. Alva (Erna) Passehl of Illinois; three brothers, William of St. Olaf, Harley of St. Olaf and Ray of Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Ferlene Kay, his father and one brother, Lorimer.
