Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Arlene E. Hilleshiem, 69, of Lakeland, Florida, died Sunday, September 10, 1989 of injuries sustained in a traffic accident in Pittsburg, TN. A native of Monona, Iowa, she moved to Lakeland 31 years ago from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was a homemaker and member of Lakewood Methodist Church in Lakeland.Funeral services were held at the Lakewood United Methodist Church in Lakewood on September 15, 1989. Pallbearers were her six grandsons.
She was the daughter of John and Eiffie (Leas) Melcher. *The obituary does not give her date of birth although it would have been about 1920* She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Lester and Glenn.
She is survived by her husband, Robert L.; two sons, Wade R. of Lakeland and Jeffrey W. of Winter Haven, FL; a daughter, Bonnie J. Nielson of Lakeland; three sisters, Wilma Cowell of Monona, Iowa, Amelia Walch of Cresco, Iowa, and Joann McCraney of Evansdale, Iowa; six brothers, Carl and Ivan Melcher, both of Monona, Iowa, Arden Melcher of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, John Melcher of Harpers Ferry, Iowa, Vernon Melcher of Waukon, Iowa, and Noel Melcher of Burlington, WA; seven grandchildren and an aunt, Iva Miehe of Oelwein, Iowa.
