Ed Doerring

Funeral services for Ed Doerring, Monona, were held Friday, March 2, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monona. The Rev. R. D. Ehlers officiated.

Ed August Doerring was born march 17, 1892 in Clayton County, the son of Charles and Louise (Schrader) Doerring, and died Feb. 27 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Postville.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. March 16, 1915 he was united in marriage to Irene Brandtman. Four children were born to this union.

They farmed until November 1961 and since then have made their home in Monona.

He was preceded in death by wife, Irene, January 29, 1979; his parents; one son, Charles, in 1947; an infant grandson; two brothers, Arno and Hubert and one sister, Esther Mohs. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Victor (LuNida) Sebastian, Postville; two sons, Eugene, Anamosa and Robert, Lancaster, Wis.; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one sister, Amanda Becker, Postville; and one brother, Lester, Monona.

Burial was in the Postville Cemetery. Schultz's Funeral Home, Monona, was in charge of arrangements.
