Funeral services for Amanda Dickman were held Friday, December 9, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Garnavillo. Pastor L. C. Urlaub officiated. Burial was in Garnavillo Cemetery. Schultz's Funeral Home, Monona was in charge of arrangements.
Amanda Catherine Rosina Dickman was born June 4, 1888, the daughter of C. William and Anna (Ruckdaschel) Dickman, on a farm three miles east of Garnavillo. She died at the Great River Care Center in McGregor December 7, 1988, having reached the age of 100 years, 6 months and 3 days. She had been a resident at the Care Center since January of 1988.
She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She lived on her parents farm until 1949. She moved to Monona with her brother, Othmar and sister, Malinda.
Preceding her in death were her parents, one brother, Othmar and 2 sisters, Adelia Bareis and Louise Wirkler.
Surviving is one brother, Erwin of Postville and one sister, Malinda Dickman of McGregor, and 7 nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were John Miller, Joel Miller, Brian Wirkler, Robert Plaht, Don Wirkler and John Wirkler.
