Funeral services for Myron Julius Dettmann were held Saturday, October 11 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Monona. Rev. Harold O. Ward officiated. Burial was in the Church cemetery. Schultz's Funeral Home, Monona, was in charge of services.

Myron was born August 19, 1918 in Monona Twp., Clayton County, Iowa, to parents John and Anna (Borcherding) Dettmann. He was baptized and confirmed by Rev. Daugs at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He died October 19, 1987 at Community Memorial Hospital, Postville, following a long illness.

He received his education in Pleasant Hill Country School and Monona High School, graduating in 1937. He served in the U. S. Army during W.W. II, in communication, both in Africa and Italy. On June 11, 1945 he married Margarete Schleuter. They had two daughters. Margarete died on Sept. 11, 1950. On June 28, 1965 Myron was united in marriage to Luella (Larson) Tieden at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Monona.

Myron worked as a butter maker and lab technician at Swiss Valley Farms in Luana for 40 years. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife Margarete and his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Luelia, two daughters, Julie Kurth, Farmersburg and Nancy Clemens, Edina, MN; a stepson, John Tieden, West Union; stepdaughter, Sandra Refle, Elkport; 3 grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Bierbaum, Westminster, CO and Mrs. Helen Schlueter, Fredericksburg, TX and 1 brother, Lorin Dettmann, Monona.
