FRIDAY SERVICES FOR MRS. NELLIE SARGENT

Services for Mrs. Nellie Sargent, 73, who died on Wednesday, June 22, were held from the Methodist church on Friday. The Rev. Robert Smith officiated. Burial was in the Strawberry Point cemetery.

Mrs. Sargent was born Oct. 30, 1886, in Central City, the daughter of Wilson and Margaret (Kearns) Jewett. She married Harford Sargent on February 7, 1906, at Strawberry Point.

She was a member of the Methodist church and of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a Gold Star Mother. Her son, Verle, was killed in action in World War II.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, one brother, five grandchildren and her son, Verle. Survivors include her husband, Harford Sargent of Strawberry Point; seven daughters, three sons, 38 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Her daughters are Mrs. Carl (Donna) Moyle, Elkader; Mrs. Albert (Vione) Brooks, Strawberry Point; Mrs. Tom (Garnet) Guinand, Mundelein, Ill.; Mrs. C. W. (Vivian) Sandry, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Robert (Marion) Fredrick, Colona, Ill.; Mrs. Irvin (Lois) Hansel, Marion, Iowa; Mrs. Donald (Evelyn) Franck, Keystone, Iowa.

Sons are Robert, Arlington; Elwin, Guttenberg and Donald of Arlington. Mrs. Agnes Boynton of Arlington is a sister, and Mr. Ralston Jewett of Dubuque, IA., a brother.
