Loretta McNally

Loretta Mary McNally, daughter of Frank and Mary (Ambrose) Sudol, was born May 28, 1932 in Giard Township. She died Wednesday, March 27, 1996 at the Good Samaritan Center, Waukon, Iowa.

She received her education at the Pleasant Ridge School and graduated from Monona High School in 1949.

Loretta was united in marriage to James E. McNally on October 9, 1951 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Monona.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Loretta always greeted everyone with a smile. She loved cooking and the outdoors, especially gardening. She was an avid sports fan, her favorites being the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Chicago Cubs.

Survivors include her husband, James E. McNally; one son, James Lee McNally of Decorah, three daughters, Lisa Ann (Jim) Peterman of Monona, Linda Kay McNally of McGregor and Lori Marie (Dan) Schulte of Anamosa; three grandchildren: Mike McNally and Nikolaus and Joshua Schulte; one sister, Marilyn Kolker of Guttenberg; one brother, Frank Sudol of Ferryville, Wis., and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 30, 1996 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Monona. Fr. Ed Lechtenberg officiated. Pallbearers were John Kolker, Jr., Dan Schulte, Jason Fletcher, Jim Peterman, Dave Fassbinder, and Jim McNally, Jr. Honorary pallbearers were Frances Rothmeyer, Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Ambrose, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Klinkenberg, Bob Tayek, Mr. and Mrs. LeAllen Johanningmeier, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Leas, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Klima. Schultz's Funeral Home of Monona was in charge of services. Burial was in the Council Hills Cemetery, rural Monona.
