DESOTEL, Abbie Pearl

Mrs. Abbie DeSotel,76,of Monona, Iowa died Saturday morning, June 25, 1977, at her home.Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m.June 28, 1977, at the St.Paul Lutheran Church in Monona, Iowa with burial in the St.Paul Lutheran cemetery. Pastor R.D.Ehlers officiated with music provided by Mrs. Carol Goettler. Pallbearers were Ben B. Frese, Lloyd Bacon, Amos Hagensick, Myron Ihde, Don Coxey, and Lloyd Russell.

Abbie Pearl DeSotel was born August 31, 1900 to Hiram Louis and Christena (Hendrickson) Monroe at Clermont township, Fayette County, near Castalia, Iowa.Preceding her in death were her parents and brothers Earl, Ambrose, and George. Her husband, Charles DeSotel, died October 25, 1971.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Melvin (Pearl) Martens of Alden, Iowa, Mrs. Dorlene Thornton of Waukon, Iowa, and Mrs. Jason (Arlene) Ferguson of Monona; a son, Raymond of Monona; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren;five sisters, Goldie Holtzman of Fayette, Iowa, Iva Michel of West Union, Iowa, Mrs. Raymond (Della) Steffens of Randalia, Iowa, Mrs. Gerald (Florence) Gutcher of Clermont, Iowa, and Irene Mathan of Great Falls, Montana, and a brother Charles Monroe of Waterloo, Iowa.
