KRUEGER, William Ludwig Henry
William Ludwig Henry Krueger, the son of Henry Krueger and Marie nee Heller, was born on March 15, 1905, near Lyle, Minnesota and was received into the Christian Church through baptism on April 9, 1905 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Toeterville, Iowa. He was confirmed in the Lutheran faith on April 6, 1919 at St.Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Monona. He received his education in the Allamakee County schools.In 1944 he was united in marriage with Alice Flagg, the ceremony taking place in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. They lived in Monona after their marriage, where he operated a cafe and also did some welding. In November of 1958, they moved to Oklahoma where he worked as a welder and De Watering Engineer. He was living at Sallisaw, Oklahoma at the time of his death. He had undergone heart surgery recently and never recovered. He passed away on Tuesday, September 27 at the age of 61 years, 6 months, and 12 days.
He had served in the armed forces of our country during World War II and was a member of the American Legion.
Surviving are his wife, one son, Gary, of Oklahoma City, one step-son, George Page of Buena Park, California, and two step-grandchildren; one brother, Lawrence of Monona, and 8 sisters, Mrs. Louise Miller of Postville, Mrs. Anna McDonald of Fowlerville, Michigan, Mrs. Helen Timmerman of Howell, Michigan, and Mrs. Minnie Baade, Mrs. Ida Vanderkerkhove, Mrs. Margaret Bergman, Mrs. Ella Brainard, all of Detroit, Michigan, and Mrs. Irene Wall of Monona, Iowa.
Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Otto, who died in the service. Funeral services were held Saturday, October 1 at 1:30 in St. Paul Ev.Lutheran Church, Monona with the Rev. R.E. Langholz officiating.
Music was provided by congregational singing, with Mrs. George Heins as organist. Pallbearers were: Barney Whittle, Gordon Bernhard, Carl Smith, Glen Crain, Fred Miene, Jackson Turner, Jason Ferguson, and Everett Drahn. A military escort and service at the grave was conducted by American Legion Leslie H. Smith Post No.519. Burial was at the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.
