McNALLY, Flora (Ziegler) 1876-1967

Flora McNally

Mrs. Flora McNally, daughter of Geo. and Maria E. (Bierbaum) Ziegler, was born March 1, 1876 in McGregor. In the spring of 1877 the family moved onto their farm in Grand Meadow township, Clayton county.

On December 28, 1894 she married R. E. McNally. They moved onto his farm in Emmet county where they lived six years. Mr. McNally's health broke and they moved back to Clayton county. After a year, they sold the farm and bought another in Grand Meadow township. Mr. McNally passed away December 27, 1946. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on December 28, 1944.

Mrs. NcNally moved to Postville in May, 1949, which has remained her home until April, 1966 when she went to live with her son, Leo. She entered the Community Memorial Hospital in Postville on January 3, 1967 and passed away January 18, 1967 at the age of 90 years, 10 months, and 18 days.

To this union were born eight children of whom five survive, namely, R. J., Louis and Leo of Postville; Mrs. Elsie Trudo of Clermont and Mrs. Millard (Rose) Mork of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. They also raised twin granddaughters.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; two sons, Wallace and Lloyd; one daughter, Mrs. Mae Krambeer (Lloyd's twin sister); three grandchildren; five brothers and five sisters.

She also leaves 25 grandchildren; 63 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; several generations of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted in St. Bridget's Catholic Church, Postville, the Rev. J. A. Sullivan, officiating on Friday morning; burial was in St. Peter's cemetery, Clermont.
