Services for Louis J. Breitsprecher were held Thursday, July 16,1981 at 1:30p.m., St. John Lutheran Church, Farmersburg, with Pastor Karl E. Hansen officiating.
Pallbearers were: Glendor Breitsprecher, John Breitsprecher, Robert Horstman, Donald Lamker, and Lloyd Matt.
Burial was in the Farmersburg Wagner Cemetery. Schultz's Funeral Home was in charge of services. Honorary pallbearers were: Carl Radloff, Rev R.H. Steege, Arno Henning, Henry Lubbers, Arthur Seeland, and Elmer Radloff.
Louis John Breitsprecher, the son of Henry and Caroline (Boettcher) Breitsprecher was born February 1, 1895, in Boardman Township, Clayton County, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He received his education in the area schools.
On March 14, 1917, he was united in marriage to Alice Strien at Monona, Iowa. To this union three sons were born. He farmed until his retirement to Farmersburg.
Louis died July 13, 1981 at Central Community Hospital, Elkader, having reached the age of 86 years, 5 months, and 12 days. Preceding him in death were his parents, six brothers, William, Ed, Alvin, Charles, Henry, Alfred and one sister Amelia Horstman.
Surviving him are his wife, Alice; three sons, Harold of Hazelton, Lloyd of Mosinee, Wisconsin, and Kenneth of St. Olaf; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
