Melva R. Moser
Melva R. Moser was born March 2, 1911, in Farmersburg, IA, to parents Lars and Tillie Thovson Thompson. She died Wednesday, September 4, 1991, at her home in Clear Lake, IA.
She was baptized and confirmed at Norway Lutheran Church in St. Olaf. She received her education in Farmersburg, graduating from high school in 1928. She attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN, for two years.
On March 14, 1935 she was married to Floyd A. Moser in Clermont, IA. The couple lived in Farmersburg until 1973. After retiring, the couple lived in Clear Lake, IA, and spent the winter months in Florida.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Floyd, who died November 6, 1986, and three sisters, Joyce, Blanche and Lillian.
Surviving is a son, Robert and his wife, Wendy, of Cedar Falls; and three grandchildren, Jamison, Heidi and Gregory.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 7, 1991, 11:00 a.m., at St. John Lutheran Church, Farmersburg, IA. Rev. Benjamin Davis officiated. Organist was Mrs. Lafonda Scherf. Pallbearers were Walter Blazek, Roger Tielbar, William Tielbar, William Gentz, Allison Fuelling and Ed Wiedenmann. Burial was in the Cass Township Cemetery, Strawberry Point, IA. Schultz's Funeral Home, Monona, IA, was in charge of services.
