Tillie Mueller, daughter of Knut and Turi (Jakobsdatter) Knutsen, the youngest of seven children, was born Oct. 14, 1904, in Opdal 1 Numedal, Norway. She died Feb. 11, 1994 at Lafayette Manor, Darlington, Wis. She was 89.
At the age of 10 she immigrated to America with her mother and brothers, making her home with her older sister Julia and husband Ole Anderson on a farm near Dodgeville, Wis., where she also received her education. Later she came to St. Olaf to keep house for her older brother, Knut, until her marriage to Arnold F. Mueller on Jan. 20, 1925. They farmed north of Gunder for a number of years before moving to Lansing.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1978, a son, William Mueller; three daughters, Mrs. Clarence M. (Dorothy) Hoffman of Waukon; Mrs. Louis W. (Lillian) Mohlmann of Platteville, Wis. and Mrs. Wayne (Betty) Miller of Little Falls, Minn.; one granddaughter and one grandson.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Keith (Arlene) Jones of Manchester and Mrs. Ronald C. (Donna) Dutter of Menasha, Wis.; three sons, Fred (Ione) Mueller of Freeport, Ill., Marlin (Bonita) Mueller of New Diggings, Wis. and Eugene (Judy) Mueller of West Point, Neb.; and 22 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Lansing, Rev. Kim Thacker officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lansing.
