William August Friederick Mueller, son of Henry and Wilhelmina (Sahs) Mueller, was born August 23, 1890 in Farmersburg township, Clayton county. On November 2, 1890 he was baptized at Clayton Center, in the Zion Lutheran Church. On April 16, 1905, he was confirmed in the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Monona.
He received his education in the Gooding Church School in the Farmersburg township. He spent his youth on the farm of his birth, and later on he worked on other farms in this vicinity. In 1951, he moved to Luana where he made his home with a sister, Ruby, and a brother, Leslie, living there until the time of his death. He passed away suddenly of a heart attack Tuesday afternoon September 14, while sitting on the davenport in the dining room of his home. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Luana.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Ed; and two brothers and one sister in infancy. He attained the age of 75 years, 22 days.
Left to mourn his passing are his sister, Mrs. Ruby Breitsprecher, Luana; three brothers, Arthur of Postville, Leslie of Luana, Henry of Monona; seven nephews and nieces; and 13 great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted from St. John Lutheran Church, Luana, Friday at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Luther A. Meyer, officiating. Burial was in the Luana Lutheran cemetery.
