MONONA, Iowa -- LaVerne John Garms, 91, of Monona, died Saturday, June 12, 2010, at Memorial Hospital, Prairie du Chien, Wis., following a brief illness.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 16, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Monona, with the Rev. Allen Bidne officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Monona. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, at Leonard Funeral Home, Monona. Friends also may call after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Surviving are his wife, Ivanelle Garms, of Monona; and five children, Wayne (Lois) Garms, of Monona, Judy (Rex) Carlson, of Woodbury, Minn., Keith (Kathy) Garms, of Elkader, Kristy (Joey) Rigdon, of Fairbank, and Laurie (Phil Steffen) Garms, of Dubuque.
