Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. June 7, 2010 at Leonard Funeral Home in Elkader, Iowa, with funeral services being held at 11 a.m. June 8, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Elkader.
Jane Marie Reimer, 51, of Elkader died Saturday, June 05, 2010, at Central Community Hospital in Elkader following a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born June 8, 1958, in Prairie du Chien, WI, to Joseph and Mary (Minchk) Pedretti.
She received her education at Central Community School. Jane was united in marriage to John Reimer on June 7, 1975, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Elkader. Three children were born to this union. Jane was a stay at home mom, who also worked at her parent’s bakery. In 2003, Jane and John purchased the bakery. Her fondest memories of working at the bakery were the years working with her nieces. She was a very talented seamstress who made a lot of quilts and clothes for herself and family over the years. Jane was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, past member of Central Hospital Auxiliary and volunteered at Central School in her children’s classes.
Survivors include her husband, John of Elkader; children, Ryan (Chelsi) Reimer of Grand Junction, CO, twin sons, Christopher (Jamie) Reimer of Elkader and Nicholas (Dusti) Reimer of Grand Junction, CO; grandchildren, Henry, Lexi and Wesley; brothers, Dennis Pedretti of Monona, Steve (Molly) Pedretti of Cresco; sisters, Sue (Brad) Breitsprecher of Elkader, Cindy (Gordon) Nelson of Inver Grove Heights, MN, Heidi (Kevin) Schmidt of Cedar Rapids; her mother, Mary Pedretti of Elkader; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Orlan and Beverly Reimer of Elkader; sister-in-law Randa (Jack) Niewoehner of Elkader; brother-in-law, James (Jeanice) Reimer of Elkader and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Jane was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Pedretti and brother, Gary Pedretti.
