Verne Entwisle Dies At Adrian, Minn.

Funeral services for Verne A. Entwisle, 74, were held Saturday morning, Dec. 3, at St. Adrian church in Adrian, Minn.

Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mr. Entwisle died at the hospital in Adrian, Nov. 30, after a long illness. He was born the youngest son of Caleb and Margaret Entwisle on a farm in Allamakee county, March 23, 1886. He was educated in the Monona Public schools and following graduation went to Ellsworth, Minn., where he engaged in the mercantile business.

In 1917 he moved to Adrian, Minn., where he entered into partnership with his brother-in-law, the late J. A. Bratsberg, who operated a department store. After the death of Mr. Bratsberg, he continued the business until his death.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Mrs. Dora Otis and Mrs. J. A. Bratsberg, and a brother, Ora C.

He is survived by his wife, the former Elizabeth Esser; three sons: Richard of Adrian, Minn., John Ed of Los Angles, Calif., Robert of Huron S. D. and a sister, Miss Irene Entwisle of Monona.

Either the Monona Billboard, or a McGregor, Iowa paper or the Postville, Iowa newspaper of the time clipping, hand dated 1960, from my mother's obituary collection. Posted for genealogical purposes, contributor is not related.
