Services Held For Ruth Ellenbolt

Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Ellenbolt were held at the Garden City United Methodist Church in Monona on Wed., May 10, 1978. The officiating clergyman was Rev. Raymond W. Pacholke. Music was provided by Mrs. Justus Kammerer, organist, and Mrs. Tom James, soloist.

Ruth Emma Lena (Hertrampf) Ellenbolt, daughter of Frank and Anna Mielke Hertrampf, was born on Nov. 21, 1913, in Linton Township, Allamakee County, Ia. She passed away at Memorial Hospital in Prairie du Chien, Wis. after a short illness on Mon., May 8, 1978.

Ruth was baptized on March 19, 1914 at her home by the Rev. E. G. Glaseser, pastor of the Watson Evangelical Church. She was confirmed June 1, 1941. She united in membership with the Pilgrim Evangelical United Brethren Church on April 22, 1956. She became a member of the Garden City United Methodist Church on Jan. 1, 1974 at Monona, Iowa, when the two denominations merged.

Ruth received her education in the school of the Monona area.

She was united in marriage to Thomas Ellenbolt on Sept. 21, 1932 at Waukon. There were two children born to this union, Beverly and Dixie.

One of Ruth's hobbies was the raising of pedigreed dogs. She had a great love for these dogs and furnished each one with a name. She was greatly concerned with their welfare and looked after them constantly.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Gretta Hertrampf.

She leaves to remember her, her husband, Thomas, her two daughters, Mrs. Eugene Nevermann (Beverly) and Mrs. Gary Palmer (Dixie), both of Monona, two grandchildren, Melanie Nevermann and Darrin Palmer; one sister, Mrs. Donald Schlitter (Pauline) of McGregor, and other relatives, including nieces, nephews and many friends.
