Dr. Hommel Rites Saturday Afternoon

Elkader - Services for Dr. P.R.V. Hommel of Elkader are scheduled Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Congregational church. Dr. Hommel, 78, died at the Central Community hospital here Thursday following a heart attack. Dr. Hommel, who was born in Puerto Rico, had practiced medicine more than 50 years and was president of the Clayton County Medical Society several terms. He is survived by his wife, Maude, and one son, William, of Denver, Colo. and a grandson. One son, John, died during World War II. Friends may call at the witt funeral home. Burial will be at the Eastside cemetery.

~note: Dr. Hommel's full name was Placido Ramos Vasquez Hommel, he was born in June 1890 and died June 15, 1967.
