Funeral services for Carl Embretson of St. Olaf were held Sunday, September 14, at the Norway Lutheran Church with the Rev. Bruce Boyce, officiating. Burial was in the Norway Church cemetery.
Mr. Embretson died at Finley Hospital in Dubuque on Thursday, September 11, after a brief illness.
He was a son of Philman and Connie Embretson of St. Olaf. He was born August 11, 1929 in St. Olaf and was 29 years old at the time of his death. He was baptized September 8, 1929 in Norway Lutheran church and confirmed in the same church on June 20, 1943.
Carl attended Monona high school, graduating with the class of 1947. He also attended Luther college in Decorah and received a bachelor of arts degree from the school in 1951.
Following graduation he became cashier of the Farmers State Bank in St. Olaf where he worked until his death.
He was a member of the Banking Association of Iowa and was active in church and community work.
Surviving are his parents, his twin brother Paul, his sister-in-law, Doris (Meyer) Embretson and his nephew, Craig of Blackduck, Minnesota.
