Lorando Embretson, 57, Passes Away After Illness

Funeral services for Lorando Embretson, 57, were held Saturday, January 6, at the Norway Lutheran Church, St. Olaf, Ia., with Rev. Robert Henriksen officiating. He passed away on January 3 at the Lutheran Hospital, LaCrosse, Wis., following an illness of five months.

Lorando Morris Embretson, the son of Ludvig and Mary Wold Embretson, was born December 21, 1915, on the farm where he lived all his life. He was baptized and confirmed in the Norway Lutheran Church, of which he was a life long member. At the time of his death he was a trustee on the church council. He received his education in the country school near his home and in Elkader High School and Elkader Junior College.

On April 3, 1948, he was united in marriage to Selina Olson at the Marion Lutheran Church in Gunder, Ia. To this union were born four children: Lee, Lorayne, Craig and Susan.

He is survived by his wife and his children, and his brother, Walde of St. Olaf.

Pallbearers were Perry Benson, Lester Butikofer, Lorimer Fuelling, Harold Peterson, Donald Dutka, Harold Ihde, Roy Engelhardt and Gunnar Landsgaard. Honorary pallbearers were Ben Fuelling, Thomas Peterson, Theodore Thorson, Burton Thorson and Alonzo Engelhardt.
