Mrs. Fred Vogt 1874-1947
Farmersburg, Ia.-Special: Funeral services for Mrs. Fred Vogt, 71, were held from the Witt funeral chapel, Elkader, to St. John’s Lutheran church, Farmersburg, Tuesday afternoon. The Rev. K. Landgrebe, Garnavillo, officiated. Burial was in the Clayton Center cemetery. Mrs. Vogt died at the University hospital, Iowa City, Ia., Saturday, following surgery.
Emilie Seifert, daughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. F. W. Seifert, was born in Clayton Center on April 8, 1874. She was married to Fred W. Vogt on Oct. 10, 1902. The couple resided on a farm near Clayton Center until 1916, when they moved to Farmersburg. Mr. Vogt died in January, 1929.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Theodore (Lillian) Glawe, Farmersburg Township, and Miss Marian, at home; two grandchildren, Mrs. Marinette Bender and Mrs. Homer Moritz, both of Elkader; three great grandchildren (Judy Bender, David Moritz and Paul Moritz); three sisters, Mrs. Sophia Zahrndt, Elkader, Miss Lenora Glawe (sic), Farmersburg, and Mrs. Katie Buchheim, Clayton Center; and three brothers, Fred and Otto Seifert, both of Clayton Center, and Ernest F. Seifert, Elkader.
Pallbearers at the funeral were James Mathews, Louis Fuelling, Gus Lenth, Marvin Mueller, August Mahnke, and Henry Oelke, all of Farmersburg.

(Note: A nearly identical obit appears in the Clayton County Register of 02 Aug. 1945.
This obit notes that she died Saturday, July 28, following an operation.
She had been baptized by her father, May 17, 1874, and was confirmed in Zion Lutheran church at Clayton Center, March 25, 1888.
She had also received her education in the school of Clayton Center.
